Warehousing Incentive Program for Brazilian Cereal Companies

» Purpose

Support the development and modernization of the Brazilian warehousing sector by national cereal companies working directly with integrated rural producers and their cooperatives; and 

Enlarge the Brazilian warehousing capacity in the segment directly serving rural producers, which on the short and medium term will minimize the logistics pressures on harvesting periods.


» Clients

Brazilian cereal companies performing drying, cleaning, standardization, warehousing and trading activities of vegetal non-processed products, earning an annual Gross Operating Income – GOR below R$ 500 million.


» Types of financial support

Indirect automatic and non-automatic.


» Eligible items

Joint or separate fixed and semi-fixed investments related to all warehousing system items (machines, equipment and construction works).


» Interest Rate

Financial Cost + BNDES Spread + Financial Intermediation Rate + Accredited Financial Institution Spread.

Financial Cost: Long-Term Interest Rate-TJLP (except for operations with Brazilian companies under foreign capital control not included in Decree nº 2.233, of May 23, 1997, and later amendments, where the UMBNDES variation plus the Currency Basket charges or US Dollar Variation plus Currency Basket charges is).

BNDES Spread: 1% per annum.
 
Financial Rate Intermediation: 0,5% per annum. (not charged for operations with Micro, Small and Medium-Sized Companies) 

Accredited Financial Institution Spread: up to 3% per annum. 


» Level of Participation

Up to 100%.


» Term of Loan

Maximum of 96 months, including the maximum grace period of 36 months.


» Guarantees and Collaterals

Negotiated between the Accredited Financial Institution and the client.

Pledge of credit rights from financial investments will not be allowed as collateral.

» Expiration Date

December 31th, 2010, respecting budget constraints.


» Application

Applicants must contact an accredited financial institution, which will inform the documents required, analyze the possibility of granting the credit, and negotiate the collaterals. After the institution grants approval, the facility will be submitted for official approval and further release of funding by BNDES.
