Company Size
The company size classification adopted by the BNDES is applicable to industry, trade and services, according to Circular Letter no. 64/02, of October 14, 2002, and is as follows:

Micro Enterprises: annual operational gross revenues of up to R$ 1,200 thousand (one million and two hundred thousand Reais).

Small Enterprises: annual operational gross revenues of more than R$ 1,200 thousand (one million and two hundred thousand Reais) and less than or equal to R$ 10,500 thousand (ten million and five hundred thousand Reais).

Medium Enterprises: annual operational gross revenues of more than R$ 10,500 thousand (ten million and five hundred thousand Reais) and less than or equal to R$ 60 million (sixty million Reais).

Large Enterprises: annual operational gross revenues* of more than R$ 60 million (sixty million Reais).


Observation:

In the hypothesis of a start of activities in the same calendar year, the limits mentioned above will be proportional to the number of months in which the legal entity of individual firm has exercised its activities, not considering fractions of months. In the case of companies that are in process of being established, the annual sales forecast used in the endeavor will be considered, taking into account the total installed capacity.

When the company is controlled by another company or belongs to an economic group, the size classification will be given taking into consideration the consolidated gross revenues.






Economic Group

a) a group of private sector companies that is directly, or indirectly, under the same controlling interest

b) a group of state- or municipally-owned companies and entities, that is respectively linked, directly or indirectly, to the same state or municipality; or

c) a group of State-owned companies (owned by the Federal Government) that is directly or indirectly under the control of the same company owned by the Federal Government.
