Brazilian Economic Insights
The publication “Visão do Desenvolvimento” was conceived in 2006 with the aim of presenting the general public with the views of the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) concerning issues relevant to economic development in Brazil. For this reason, the texts presented here have taken on a very specific format: they are short and written in a style that is accessible to a broader audience. The publication covers topics such as the financial market, the production structure and foreign trade, investment, fiscal policy, the labor market and social inclusion.
“Brazilian Economic Insights”, as the publication is called in English, is aimed at expanding the readership of “Visão do Desenvolvimento” incorporating a foreign
audience. Of the first sixty publications up to 2008, the site in English will gradually make available the most relevant twenty that are still current and that triggered significant reader
response. As of edition Nº. 60, all issues will be translated and published
here.
