BNDES directs R$ 1.2 million for tax modernization project in Cacoal (RO)

The board of Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social [BNDES] approved a financing of R$ 1.2 million for the municipal district of Cacoal, in Rondônia, in the ambit of the Program for the Modernization of the Tax Administration and Management of the Basic Social Sectors [PMAT]. The resources, which correspond to 90% of the total investment, will enable the increase of the municipal district own collect in 127%.
The project expects the implantation of programs for maintenance and real estate and security register updating; for fiscal awareness; for human resources qualification; and for tax administration, seeking to maximize the idle resources, eliminating losses and providing a better quality service for the taxpayer. The re-adequacy of physical structure of the municipal tax department and the improvement of the information system are still expected, aiming at the optimization of tax liability.
PMAT - Created in 1997 by BNDES, PMAT is destined to modernization of tax administration and to the improvement of the public expense quality, through the management of the basic social sectors (Health, Education and Social Welfare) aiming at increasing the fiscal efficiency level of the municipal districts, considering the great unexplored potential of generation of own tax revenue, from the basis of the existing tax revenue, improving the collection instrument.
In the ambit of the program, it can be financed, but not limited to, informatics and support to inspection equipment, programs for training and personnel recycling and improvement of programs for citizen service.
